The Township of North Dumfries continually works towards creating a barrier-free and inclusive environment for the election. The Clerk is committed to conducting an election that accommodates, encourages participation, and inspires the confidence of persons with a disability.
Election Accessibility Plan
In accordance with Section 12.1 (2) of the Municipal Elections Act, the Township Clerk prepares a plan regarding the identification, removal and prevention of barriers that affect electors and candidates with disabilities.
The Election Accessibility Plan supports full and equal access to electoral services for persons with disabilities and proactively addresses accessibility barriers for the 2022 Municipal Election. This plan will be monitored and improved or updated as best-practices are identified and new opportunities for improvement arise to respond to feedback from the community.
For more information, see the 2022 Election Accessbility Plan.
Post Election Accessbility Report
Section 12.1 (3) of the Municipal Elections Act requires the Clerk to prepare a report within 90 days after Voting Day about the identification, removal, and prevention of barriers affecting electors and candidates with disabilities and to make the report available to the public. View the 2022 Election Evaluation and Accessbility Report that was presented to Council on December 12, 2022.
