Hiking Trails

Enjoy a leisurely walk and take in all the natural beauty North Dumfries has to offer! Trails in North Dumfries are maintained by the Grand River Conservation Authority and Region of Waterloo Agreement Forests. Please see below for information regarding the trails available.

Grand River Conservation Authority Trails

There are a number of trails in North Dumfries that are owned and maintained by the Grand River Conservation Authority. Users are welcome to check out their website for maps information and trail use permissions.

Trail User's Code

Please respect other trail users as well as private landowners for their kind consent by abiding to the following:

  • Stay on marked routes; do not leave trail
  • Hunting is not allowed on or near the trail
  • Dogs must remain on a leash at all times and please remember to stoop & scoop.
  • Motorized vehicles are not allowed unless otherwise posted
  • Leave plants, flowers and trees for others to enjoy
  • Stay to the right of the trail and allow others to pass to your left
  • Cyclists must ting bell when passing pedestrians from either direction
  • "Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures"
